The Stuff is a silicone product that coats the hair and makes the comb slide through more easily. I'd spray it on, really rub it in and then get out a greyhound (metal) comb and slowly and methodically work through the coat from the skin out. Rewetting with The Stuff as you go. It's possible that after the coat is dematted, they will require a bath. While the product isn't greasy, it does coat the hair and if you use it liberally, it could make the hair look greasy and like you need a bath. To prevent mats, once you get the hair completely combed out from the skin to the ends, you can use a LITTLE spray of The Stuff to coat the hair and keep mats from forming. |
