I am not familiar with "The Stuff", but I can tell you that I haven't had much success with any of the detanglers/leave-in conditioners that work very well for other people -- including Miracle Coat and CC's Ice on Ice. Depends the dog's coat.

I read in the grooming section of this forum that corn starch works wonders on mats -- Mimimomo, who sells Madan brushes/combs and more here, wrote that the corn starch should be applied to the dry mat and worked through with fingers.
