You can go to 10,000 websites and they are say they love their dogs, raised in the home, yada yada yada. How many times have we heard they were so nice and knowledgeable about the breed and we all know they have learned to "sell" their dogs without any concern for their dogs. We have all learned to look for the red flags but people still will buy from these people. We also know some show breeders could care less about their dogs but are winning ribbons. The dog breeding/showing world is very complex as nothing is black and white as is the AKC.
I know that dogs should not be an impulse buy (they usually are) so how do we educate people to what is going on in the background. We say it over and over here on YT but people still won't listen and dogs suffer because of it.
Maybe we should start a thread on what to look for in a reputable breeder and also what to be aware of.

Toally agree.
As for what to look for in a reputable breeder and what to be aware of, I think that subject has been exhuasted on YT. It's out there, if one has the inclination to google it. I think that's the problem.....people are in a hurry or buy a puppy because they've fallen in love with a cute face. Buy off the internet and have the pup shipped, then cry because something went wrong..
You buy your breeder first, then your puppy. If you don't feel comfortable with your breeder or are looking for that breeder that will sell you on open registration without knowing you or mentoring you......run the other way.
