Don't know if this will help. It works for me. Many yrs. ago I saw this in the paper. Stomp with a towel on the pee, then pour part water and white vinegar, I use the vinegar straight. Stomp again with towel. The paper said there is a oil in the urine and the vinegar will pull it out. There will be no stain and pup won't go back to the spot. Of course the house smells like vinegar but that passes. I have had several dogs and had good luck with this method.
We put a bell hanging from the door knob. It was silent for 2 weeks then all of a sudden she started ringing the bell to go out. I think she put two and two together. She always gets a treat if she potties. One day she held it to long and come running across the living rm, just about skid into the door. Did'nt make it in time. But she tired. Of course she loves the outside so that connection helps.
