[I]I have a 4 1/2 pound 18mos. female. She had trouble with the Heartgard giving her diarrhea and making her droopy for a couple days. The vet put her on Interceptor chewable tablets. These have been easier on her tiny body and she doesn't mind taking them. We use Frontline but I don't put the whole vial on her little body. She's sensitive to meds and I'm careful to err on the less than the more. We have a pom/rat terrier mix (4 1/2 yrs.) also and she's been on Heartgard her whole life. She does fine and loves the things. I'm sure your vet knows what's best for your puppy but our little Missy does better on Interceptor for small dogs. KCAnderson
