I don't know about your DH but mine needs time. Usually when I play it his way he will come around. I also do slight joking hints. I am now looking for a male, he will be our third. I let my husband put the lights on the Christmas tree (first time I haven't argued the entire time with him about the lights) he turns to be and says "don't cheep out, get a good one"
