I have seen a gps tracker like this one but it was like half the price and there is no monthly service. You can track it yourself online or your cell phone. I have to get that link again!
I wish the technology was already designing microchip GPS for dogs.
I'm sure this has been designed but not for consumers , maybe for the military ... and I'm sure the price for that right now are thousands of dollars
