Yes, they do seem to be. I guess the mentality is, when what you have doesn't fit the mold, make up somthing that does and try to make yourself seem 'official.' As a matter of fact, I am starting my own registry next week called the "Yorkies Who Like to Sleep on Fluffy Red Pillows" registry...because it certainly 'suits' mine.

I don't think that is what she was trying to say, but there is ALWAYS the possibility that the breeder is not being honest and that the pedigree you are getting is not accurate. I'm certainly not saying that is the case here...I wouldn't know, but it happens.
It's kind of hard to answer your question as to a "fair price". What seems 'fair' to one, may not be 'fair' to the next. I.e. I would think that $2K for a quality specimen who meets standards with CH lines would be 'fair' but that charging anything over than about $400 for a dog that varies from the standard so much is a rip off. But that's just MY opinion on what I think is "fair." What's fair is an opinion. The only opinion that really matters here is your since you will be the one purchasing the dog.
