Default Do we need to feed him more?

We've been feeding our yorkie a 1/3 of a cup of food at each meal (morning and evening) since he was a puppy. He will be 2 in March. We feed him Nature's Recipe.

My husband thinks he is not getting enough food, as he gets anxious for his meals and starts "asking" to be fed in the afternoon around 4pm or 5pm (if my husband is home from work at that time). He eats his meals quite fast, too.

I am afraid of feeding him more, as I've heard small dogs can put on weight quickly and that even an extra pound or two can be bad for them.

I read something on here about adding frozen green beans into their diet. Is this a good idea? If so, do I add it to his food? Or do I give him some green beans and then the dry food? How much dry food and how much of the green beans? And lastly, do you unthaw the green beans or just give them to the dog frozen?

Thanks in advance!
