By the way Gen, I just though of something and wanted to share. About 15 yrs ago we had a litter of Golden Retrievers that we sold. We got a call one of the families puppies got through the fence and was gone. George was about 15 to 16 weeks old at this time. They of course put up flyers, called everyone etc. The internet wasn't that large at that time. Well over 70 miles away across the other side of the mountain (its east TN) a little 7 yr old boy was praying to God to send him a dog. Adam got off the bus one afternoon to find his BUDDY waiting for him. They went home and his parents advised they had to try to find his owner as he had a collar on but no ID. His coat was matted and muddy, so they feed, bathed and put up flyers. Dad said he needed to get checked out so they went to the vet. The vet said well it lookes like you have a 3 year old 68 lb boy, until he checked his teeth, he then advised BUDDY was only about 3 months old and was going to be a big boy! About 2 months latter they got a call from the family that lost George, someone they knew went to the same vet and overheard them talking about the large golden that was in there, they inquired and got the information and passed it along. They were going to come over Friday afternoon. The news had to be broken to little Adam. When the families were talking in the living room, Adam appeared with his piggy bank and wanted to buy Buddy. Needless to say the families worked out a deal and Adam became the owner of BUDDY. It seemed Georges family lived on a farm and could use a hand with some chores and Adam was Buddy was faithful in showing up to pay their debt to be together forever. Buddy topped out at 96 lbs and remained with Adam. Gen, god knows how to use his creatures here on earth, both human and animal, and I feel you already know this, I hope this gives you hope, not sadness, I just wanted to share, Cookie could be anywhere, this little guy traveled over 70 miles and was given a good home. But they didn't know George was ok for over 3 months. Then they found it in their hearts to allow George to give a little boy years of love and happiness. They paid $300 for George and I'm sure they took a loss to give Adam happiness, piggy banks are not that big. But its the people like them and YOU and YOUR FAMILY that makes this world a little better place. By the way how is your NEW KID doing?? She is so beautiful. Is she still sleeping with you?
