The puppies would be able to maintain better with it. My suggestion is to phone your local vet and inquire about it. If I can suggest something to you, be careful about following some of the advise you can get here. I just sat through a 15 minute sermon due to following what someone else done. They were telling they gave their yorkie ice cream during the birthing process. Last night cabella would not eat, drink nor even clean her puppies. I was afraid she wouldn't be with me by morning, I thought about the ice cream and decided to at least try it. She licked it right up. It was only about 2 tablespoons if that. This is such a no no per my vet. She went bonkers on me. I know dairy products are not good for them, but i was desperate, needless to say I have her pager number home number and cell and the ok to call anytime before I try any home remedies out again. She also gave me some sites to try for information and I will pass these on to you, they are all used by the vets www.vin.com www.avma.com good luck with the puppies. By the way, thank Goodness I didn't tell her about adding 1 tablespoon of cottage cheese to Joey's food in the am and pm when his ears wouldn't stand up. She would be in her grave at this time!!!!LOL She is just the best vet ever. She phones to check on the guys. I found her when my daughters sugargliders were out of water and they had gone out of town, phoned to ask me to go by and check them for her. I found her lifeless and took her to my regular vet and they wouldn't even help me get water into her but suggested me to take it to her, they were new in town, well I did as as I walked in the door and told her what i had she grabbed it took it through the office door and begain shooting her up with liquids after about 30 minutes she came back in to talk to me about options, not so much the how will you pay for it. I found this very appealing, try to save the animal first. She now sees our 10 dogs two cats and 2 birds. We have been blessed with her. good luck
Thank you. I will look at these sites. I am sure I am full of questions that might be answered by looking at them. When my mothers seem to be getting tired while having their babies, I mix up water and coral calcium and feed them. I like this better than giving them the injections of calcium. In fact, I have a huge bottle of liquid calcium that I have never used. Sylvia
