I've shopped at both. The Petco store is closer and I purchase Sophie's food and treats there and her winter coat came from Petco. I agree with a previous poster that I don't want to see the other animals in cages like at Petsmart but Petsmart does have a wider variety of toys and some other things. If I can get what I want at Petco I'll go there first. We have a nice pet boutique called Must Love Dogs here but I only shop there once in a while for t-shirts because they are quite pricey.
