I refer to this link often when considering coat/color changes:

Yorkie puppy coat color stages within the first two years of maturity - yorkie hair color

Kimbo is 7 months old. I think he has a modified coat right now but cannot be sure. He has a silver head and black back. There is no grey under the black yet. His fur grows VERY slowly.
