Speaking about taking pretty close up pictures, I also got the new 85mm micro yesterday. It was several tons on the expensive side.
I took a micro picture of some of the steel bristles on a Christensen dog brush. Why? Because I couldn't find anything more suitable to shoot. It's impressive. I'd post the photo except unwanted dog hairs are present.
