I've never had any issues with them going bad. I've seen some people recommend to wash off the chewed sections and refrigerate between chew times but I've never bothered. He's such a little guy I'm not a bit surprised that it takes him so long to chew one. I'm jealous - they don't last long around here and they're expensive!
