I'm confused. He's 2 months old but he goes to the groomers once a month? Groomers don't allow dogs that haven't had all their shots yet, and at 2 months, I'm assuming he doesn't.

Anyway, you need to start brushing as soon as possible to get them used to it. Try doing it when he's sleeping. That's how i started out doing Uni. I would even cut her nails when she was sleeping. Also you need to get the right kind of brush. If you're using a slicker brush, it's probably hurting a lot when you get to a mat. I just got a Madan brush from YTer mimimomo and Uni loves it. She thinks she's getting the spa treatment.
