The vet I used and the new vet I am using does not like to put them under anesthesia if microchip only, he uses a topical anesthetic and then inserts the chip, it took my girl 5 minutes she was 5 months of age when I got her and microchiped her.My stud was my first dog to be microchiped and he was done while a visit for teeth cleaning.. any chance to get them done I had used..LOL, my other 2 were done while spaying and neuter was done.
