Kongs are great chew toys, and so are Busy Buddies products. I feel safe leaving those with my babies when they are unattended. You could buy some of the "bad tasting spray" stuff & put it on the kennel bars. The stuff I have is called McNasty & it works GREAT! I didn't try it on kennel bars but I've put it on our baby gates & my yorkies don't chew anything that's been sprayed with the McNasty stuff. I also think it helped when I gave them rawhide bones to chew on when they were little & teething (they are 1 year old now). I know that some people say rawhides are bad so it's a personal choice as to whether or not you let your baby have one. It kept my pups busy chewing on those & they just loved them. They still have some that they chew on from time to time & I can tell they just love having something hard to chew on (I get the rolled rawhides). I would NEVER leave a rawhide with them unattended though, since there is a possible risk of a chunk breaking off & it could get stuck in their throat. I know of other people that leave them with their dogs when they're home alone though. Good luck - hope your baby settles down on the kennel bars!
