This is probably not the cause, but when my Chow mix went for shots as a puppy the assistant held him by the head with his ear crushed in her hand to keep him from moving! Needless to say the cartilage was broken and that one ear has flopped ever since. It made me very upset. I questioned them about it, but they denied that it could have done it. I saw it. Both ears had been up for months until those shots. It was the side she had crushed in her hand that was broken. I never went back to that vet again.
