Blood test may show low blood protein levels but not always. This is a common disease for Yorkies and they lose protein. They need zero fat and high quality protein. This is a slow process to figure out what she can and cant eat. This week plain rice next week throw in lean ground turkey if that works then may green beans for a week. So far so good. I hope this thread will help someone who is having the same symptoms my Lola has.
You are correct my vet just said this runs in yorkies alot but he said the low protein on blood work is the indicator but it happens with dogs with ibd issues so sounds like your dog has ibd to me and he is treating same as ibd dog as grains and steroids are used in ibd dogs as well so may be trying to prevent your dog from getting this disease by treating the ibd aggressively it sounds to me
