Not sure where my first reply went: so here goes again!
I foster greyhounds off the track. They stay here while getting vetted and waiting for a home.
It is the most rewarding and heartbreaking thing that you can do. You know what you are doing is a great service, yet you can't help but fall in love. You hurt for them and love them just like your own. BUT, then the day comes and they get a forever home. You are so glad, yet heartbroken to have to let go. I have been unable to do any fostering the last year or so. Hurts and you do need time to rebound.
