Would your parents be able to watch him for you? Is there a chance that you could possibly rent an apartment (or have an apt. with a number of roomates to keep the cost down?) off of campus that allows dogs?

I'm going through that right now (I'm a junior in high school). Not with the dog, with the cat. My parents would be more than willing to keep her while I'm at school, but she gets SO upset whenever I leave, I'm just concerned that she would have a very hard time with the adjustment. I've been specifically putting money aside so if it works out the way I hope it does, I am able to rent an apartment so I can take my cat with me.

What if you sent your parents some money for food/vet/etc so they wouldn't feel like you just dumped your dog on them?
