I prefer using snaps for the dog clothing I make. And, I know my dogs prefer the snaps, the noise velcro makes being torn apart scares/startles my dogs. Buttons would take too long to fasten, with a wriggling dog, IMO.

Also, as Shelby&Seymour posted, the snaps work so much better than velcro, with a yorkie's long coat.
