Brister! I agree completely that regular harnesses and flexi leads increases a dog's compulsion to pull. I recommend captnoonie, stick with the easy walk harness and the 6 ft. leash. Add to that, instead of using treats try peanut butter on a long wooden spoon (so you don't have to bend with the smaller dogs. ) They say in training when learning heeling- lead the nose and you'll lead the dog.
