Genetics states that albinism is caused by a failure of the body to produce melanin, which is what gives color to your hair, your eyes, and your skin. This can occur in
any animal.
As far as the eye color, an albino's eyes are in fact opaque. However, blood may be seen through the eyes and
can give them a pink appearance. They are not always red or pink, however.
