Please give this shelter a call. I have been checking through any FL shelter. Icalled regarding this Yorkie that they got 12/01/09 they say his name is Max. He is NOT in their adoption section so I wondered. THey say he is about 4 yrs old , neutered male.
I asked if they could scan him and if he had a collar with that name Max. The lady asked me what I needed and I told her I lost my Yorkie. She said I had to come in to see if it was him. I explained that I am about 4 hrs away from them. Then she just tells me " This cant be your dog....how would he end up here?"
I just told her that a neighbor of mine had lost her yorkie last year and she got a call from a shelter 3 hrs away! SO I told her anything is possible and I need to check this out.
She said sure let me get his records. She comes back after a couple of minutes and says "This cant be your dog, it was surrendered by its owner"
I didnt want to keep on and on but why would this dog be under Lost & Found?

First of all people turn in dogs all the time that dont belong to them, so it is not impossible that the dog belongs to someone else, they can turn them in with no questiopns asked. Shelters feel that taking in unwanted animals for free, will make people less likely to dump them off somewhere. I would question that someone turned in such a valuble animal, most shelters will adopt an owner relink right away. Also shelters now have Internet so that you can veiw the animals on your computer, if the dog has a chip there is no question who it belongs to, have the shelter scan the dog, explain to them why you are asking them to do this, actually you gave me the number I will call!
