I think you should start leaving him alone for short periods of time... crated or in x-pen. He's too young to be roaming the house. If he's never left alone, he will never learn to how to be alone. I didn't want Roxy developing separation anxiety, so wanted her to learn being alone was OK. Leave TV, lights on or whatever replicates normal sounds when you are home. He will learn it's OK.

What is it that makes you afraid to leave him alone? I wasn't afraid until the day came we had to leave for about an hour or so & decided to leave her out of the crate. She was fine when we returned & so was the house. Hallway is gated, so she only had access to 3 rooms. Gradually we built up to longer periods of time. She does fine.
