Default 2 indoor potty trained Yorkie boys

Mr. Darcy has a new brother, 5 month old Jackson. After several nose in the air days, Mr. Darcy became enchanted with his new playmate. They chase, run, fight and actually cuddle on the sofa. I'm so proud of Mr. Darcy; maintaining alpha status while gently sharing toys and chews.
Jackson is an absolute love. He smiles big with teeth showing and does the macaroni wriggle butt dance for attention. Adjusting to a "second son" even in these tight quarters has not been difficult.
Like Mr. D., I've trained Jackson to potty indoors with disposable pads and a holding tray. I would like to purchase some reuseable pads.....but have questions for owners of indoor potty trained pups. Will using a fabric/flannel coated pad after months of disposable cause them to digress to carpet or throw rug accidents? Untill each was dependable, I had to pick up bathroom and door rugs to insure they'd use their pad.
I'd very much appreciate feedback from experienced owners.
