 You SO did the right thing...
I wouldn't even question someone for helping a hurt animal...
But I would worry about someone that DIDN'T try to help!!! Poor baby out in the street hurt and so scared. If you hadn't have made the call no telling what would have happened. The poor thing could have suffered so much more than it already did.
My grandpa used to say to keep an eye on anyone your dog doesn't like or that doesn't like your dog...
