Default New Yorkie

I've been lurking since August learning what I can about yorkies in the hopes of adding one to our family. We were offered a 3 year old little girl by a family who could no longer care for her. She came to live with us on Monday. I took her to the vet yesterday and she weighed 3 pounds. He told me she was emaciated and malnourished. I knew that because I could feel every bone in her body. He wormed her and she expelled a tape worm today. Yea! I've got to get her up to 4 1/2 pounds so that she can be spayed. What a wonderful little dog - so responsive and loving. She is on vitamins for 3 weeks and a good grade of dog food - eating like a pig! She has a grade 2 heart murmer. I hope nothing comes of that but if it does we are here for her. Thanks for the wonderful threads and the knowledge here. It has helped a lot.
