If you do a quick search here - you'll find that you are definitely not alone.

I agree that there is no need to rush; some dogs are accepting of a puppy and some are not.

Mine was not and we took it very slowly. Supervised visitation - out in the yard only; then in the living room (pretty neutral zone); then all over the house. This over the course of days.

Lavish your first dog with lots of attention; make sure he is greeted first; fed first; walked first - EVERYTHING first for your older dog. This will help some of the jealousy issues. I know it's hard cause puppies are SO cute, but try not to pay TOO much attention to the puppy; give your older dog the most attention.

If you can, walk them together; this will help them bond.
