I agree and this is excellent information for the health of your little one.

In response to leaving overnight..I would not. I would talk to the vet and see if she can be the first one spayed and you pick her up right before they close. Vets only really need to know if they came out of the gas without any problems. She should be able to come home, eat and drink a little and then left in a quite draft free place to sleep.

When I was rescuing Yorkies I was allowed in the surgery room and once they were stable and the vet was comfortable I took them home...this was usually within an hour or two.
