Many people don't know this, but unless your vet is a 24 hour emergency facility, pets are always left alone at night. The vet on call does check on them, though.

Usually if your pet requires monitoring at night, your vet will recommend they be transferred to the ER vet for the night. Only stable patients are left unattended.

You could discuss this option with your vet.
