Congratulations on your new yorkie. I totally understand where you are coming from vntgrose and I might be opening "a can of worms"here. No one is trying to hurt your feelings. While I believe some posters and breeders in general are attempting to warn you of possible implications sometimes it comes off as "raining on your parade". You asked a behavior question and some are trying to explain why you may experience some problems. The fact is you already have your puppy so it's a mute point and it comes off as criticism. Once a cautionary point is stated it doesn't need to be repeated with posts of the same nature. I too brought my Sophie home at 8 1/2 weeks not aware of the suble differences between bringing a toy puppy home and the German Shepard puppies I had. My Sophie is a wonderful, well mannered little girl who doesn't exhibit any of the previously mentioned problems so I think it can go either way. If someone is only researching bringing a puppy home then I agree they should be made aware of certain points but once someone comes on YT after the fact with their "happy" announcement they just want to be welcomed and share their joy. Please don't feel unwelcome and please post photosWe are happy for you!
