You're right. The only time I start really don't leave them is once the whelping begins. Or I lay on the bed and watch into the whelping area.

The water leaking. Don't be concerned at times you can actually hear a loud pop and water gushes out. That's indicitive that a puppy may be born out of the sack.....dry birth.
