I just wanted to say that I know how you feel - we adopted a cat from a "rescue". The person lied about the cats age (told us she was 8 weeks when she was 5 weeks) and never tested her for worms or anything. We had her for about 2 weeks when she suddenly fell extremely ill and within 10 minutes she was starting to take her last breaths. We just got her to the vet in time and they stabilized her. Her little body was shutting down but the bill would have been a minimum of $3000, which we didn't have. It's extremely hard and it broke our hearts to give her away.

That being said, I know you've spent a lot of money on your dog previously and the current bill is very high. If you've already signed her off, I don't think there is a way to get her back, especially if someone has already claimed her as their own. You know she has this disease and it probably won't be the last episode she has, so it really might be best if she goes to someone who can afford it if the case arises. I'm not trying to be mean, but sometimes we have to do what's best for the animal. I've been in your situation and understand how hard it is, so don't think I'm passing judgment... I'm just trying to help and to be honest. If you can maybe some how borrow the money from family/friends/bank or apply for Care Credit, then maybe that will help.
