I am so sorry. I wanted to tell you about Nikki. My dad lives in a senior building and I befriended an elderly woman there who had a rescue Yorkie named Nikki. She was in bad shape financially so I offered to help her care for Nikki so he wouldn't end up in rescue again. She got Nikki about 2 years ago and he was estimated to be 11 years old. We took him to the vet and got his shots and he checked his teeth and said they were horribly rotten and all had to come out. This kind generous vet agreed to do the dental for 400 and we had it done 2 weeks ago. Nikki is 13 had all his teeth removed and they said the pockets were 9cms and they had to do extensive work. It was 970 and all he charged me was the 400 he quoted and Nikki is like a new dog. He is eating like crazy, his breath is great and he is running and jumping like a puppy. The vet made sure he did the pre bloodwork, used the best anesthesia and kept him warm. We knew there was a risk but we couldn't let him suffer and Thank God he came through. Just thought I would share a success story on an older dog. |
