I want to know all the pros and cons so that I can make an educated decision. Please help me make this decision, I love my baby and all information and oppinions would be extremily appreciated!
IMO Neutering Pros & Cons

Pro
- won't try to escape the yard and possibly get lost trying to get to a female in heat
- dog if loose or encounters stray dog will not add to the overpopulation of dogs in our society
- less likely to mark territory inside the house
- less to encounter testicular cancer (reasoning obvious)
- less likely to encounter prostate issues
- less likely to have aggression issues because of decreased testosterone

Cons

- may possible make your dog a touch more sedentary since the desire to mate is gone (debatable)
- may cause possible weight gain since they are not spending energy to try and mate (debatable)
- appearance (falsies available )
- may make your dog calmer and less aggressive (I don't see this as a con but thats me!)
- for female dogs: spaying is a more invasive surgery then neutering

The big con? Simply being against the idea of sterilizing an animal.

People usually push for spaying/neutering because.... there really are very few cons (the real ones being weight - which is more or less an "old wives tale" since most dogs are spayed/neutered around maturity when they'd gain some weight. Many choose not to spay females because it does involve opening the abdominal cavity and its a much more invasive procedure. The flip side argument of course is that this invasive surgery would prevent possible issues with accidental litters and pregnancy.) The other big reason is because the amount of homeless pets is already so large combined with there being no "logical" reason not to its better to spay/neuter and not accidentally add to the 6-8 million homeless animals out there.

I spay/neuter all my animals, because I feel for all the homeless animals out there and don't want to ever accidentally add to that because one of my dogs managed to get loose or a loose dog ended up in my yard. That's just me though. If you feeling that taking away an animal's ability to neuter is immoral - then thats another story. I just feel the benefits outweigh the risks.
