My Westie has skin allergies which are mentioned in the article posted. Whenever he starts getting that greasy feeling - especially when it's been less than a week since his last bath - my Vet says that his skin allergies are acting up. Sometimes when he is itching really bad, he is put on prednisone for 10 days or so to stop the inflammation.
We give him Omega 3's and bathe him in a shampoo called "Cortisoothe" from the Vet to help his skin.
We BUY him a grain-free food (TOTW) but mostly he is interested in eating the puppy's purina puppy Chow - which is horrible for his allergies.
Anyway, my vet says that skin allergies will cause that 'greasy' feeling. |
