One of my Yorkies fell into our pool while we were at work drowned. It happened last November. The water was very cold and she did not know how to get out. She was only 4 months old. We did not have her in the summer when we are in the pool. Very tragic and very sad . We put up a fence immediately. But yes, Yorkies can swim. They are so cute when they swim. Buster and Maggie are only in the pool when we are in it. I would advise getting life jackets for them.
