There's the reason Darby whines so much He's trained you to do what he wants when he whines. He says "Watch this, I can get Mommy to pick me up" And then he whines, and then you pick him up! Clever little Darby

Whining to go outside is acceptable though. When he whines, you should ignore him. If the whine turns to worse, then get up and walk away. If you start ignoring him every time he whines, he'll start to learn that whining doesn't get him what he wants. In fact it gets him something he really doesn't want...you ignoring him or walking away!

Some dogs are naturally vocal in some ways. But his whines (except for potty) should never be to direct you to do something. Otherwise it may never stop! Good luck with your clever baby!
