We got a call this morning around 9:30 ...the usual " Did you lose a yorkie?"
My husband says yes. This yorkie is around 8 lbs! So its not Cookie plus this yorkie is not neutered.
I asked my husband for the phone. The part that bothered me is that the lady said she is keeping him because she's had him for a week! I told her
" Let me just tell you about me searching for my dog, I am devastated,I go out every day searching. Every vet or or emergency hospital has our flyer" I'm sure that yorkie's owner wants him back desperately. She said she walked the dog on the neighborhood and he didnt seem to walk to anyone's house. I told her that if my dog would be walked he would not walk to my house because he rarely got walked because of his small size. I told her to PLEASE take him to any vet and have him scanned. To post a FREE ad in the lost and found in a local paper. Then and only then should she consider keeping this Yorkie.
She told me she called shelters in this area and they asked her if he was 4 lbs. So I know they are talking about my Cookie.
I hope this other yorkie makes it home also. I would never keep a stray dog no matter how cute. I experienced that a few months ago. I drove into our driveway and when I opened my car door a dog leaped on my lap licking me all over. I freaked out because I thought it was a pitt but it wasnt. She ran into my house and I feared the worst. She was the most playful dog.My hubby fell in love with her and wanted to keep her. I posted her on Craiglist and I got an email in a few hrs. I wanted to know every detail about this dog and the owner said everything right. She said her boyfriend has been sleeping on the sofa hoping his dog would be scratching at the door .
There was a reward offered. I didnt ask for it , no way. That reunion was really something. That guy dropped to his knees on my grass and his dog ran to him. That dog was 12 miles from home.
