Well, let me just share that we have not had the greatest week-end in terms of brotherly love around here either.
I'm not sure what's going on with Ringo (the Westie) but he has been ready to pounce on Lucy at the drop of a hat for the past few days. He never bites her but he does scare her and it's starting to tick me off.
First, he has to make sure that she is eating the same thing - WHICH THEY ARE.
Then, he got this bone out of her crate that's been there forever. Neither one like it. BUT he took it into his crate and then guarded it all night long. Drove me insane. He started again this morning - so I just put the bone away so neither could have it.
Then, they were both eating - he in the kitchen and her in the dining room - separated by a baby gate. Ringo charged the gate and knocked it down - which scared both of them and now Ringo is in his crate. They have the same food! I had to start mixing puppy chow in w/his food to keep the peace.
I know that you are not supposed to correct the 'alpha' but he has gone too far this week-end IMO. Lucy should be able to walk around the house without getting 'charged' by her brother.
So, despite all my hard work, it's not all sweetness and light around here this holiday week-end! |
