Just thought I'd share my great experience with my breeder. Krista and her partner breed Yorkies and Maltese. They have an arrangement where her partner has the mommy Yorkie and whelps the pups. Once mommy is sick of them, Krista takes them for socialization and beginning stages of potty training. Once they're at an optimum weight and age she places them in homes

I was able to meet his Dad and his Aunt. She had pictures of Mommy.
I was asked a lot of questions about my lifestyle and experience with dogs. Krista genuinely cares about the home her pups are going to. I was sent home with a lot of handouts about caring for my puppy, hypoglycemia, potty training and more. We also got a little gift bag with new toys, food, potty pads, and supplements. She also took care of the AKC paperwork and had a simple, yet understandable Health Contract and 1 year Guarantee.
The one thing I enjoyed the most was that I could tell the pups were raised in a home environment. The adults greeted us at the door and sat on our laps while we talked. The two pups were in their pack n play. Krista made no claims to the dogs being fully potty trained, but my boy hasn't had an accident in a week! He holds it and goes immediately when we take him out.
For my first experience with purchasing a puppy from a breeder I am very content. My puppy is happy healthy boy and I really do contribute a lot of that to Krista. So if you live in the LA, Ventura, or Orange County area of SoCal I would definitely consider KayDee's as a great breeder.
