If you are new at breeding and whelping, I strongly suggest you look around this site and on the web for articles on the stages of labor, and keep your vet advised as to her activities so they can be prepared if you need them. You won't know if there is a problem unless you understand the stages of labor first. Look in the Breeder section here. There are even some videos out there that will show you how to deliver puppies.
