Dogs really need that routine. They need to know what to expect everyday or they can become anxious. Once you get settled in your new job, things should ger easier.

I agree with Kirby, get an x pen in the kitchen when you can't be there. Take note of what time they eat and drink, and how many hours it has been since they've last gone. Everytime they go on the pad, of course say Good Pee pee. When they don't, say Bad girl, No pee pee. Get them to know what "pee pee" means (or potty or whatever word you use). When they know the word you can get them to go on command instead of just waiting till they want to go.
