I am sorry to hear about your pup... a year ago this month, my yorkie Ruby was also diagnosed with a liver shunt. After many vets telling me there was nothing they could do for her, I took her to Texas A&M College of Vet. Medicine. They are amazing- they were able to perform surgery on her successfully. While it was expensive, it was the best money I have ever spent. For a few months after the surgery she was on a lot of medications, but now, a year later we are on zero meds and just on prescription LD diet. I have a healthy, happy yorkie. I suggest to you, if you are able, to take your dog to Texas A&M or U of Tennessee... don;t give up hope!
