Hello im so sorry to hear of your news, unfourntatley this is the problem with the yorkshire terrier breed, it makes me so upset that this affects so many of the yorkies, I had 2 beautiful yorkies mickey passed away last year through this problem he was 12, and just yesterday i lost my dear dog tommy to the same also with an enlarged heart he was his brother 13 years. I say you do what you feel is best, you know your dog you know whats best. All i can say is this is a very painful and upsetting problem which will not only effect your dog but you, its painful to watch your dog in so much pain and no theres nothing you can do. Surgery is risky depending on the age, in my own personal opinon i feel the surgery is only prolonging the pain which will eventually come now of course you shouldnt listen to my opinon only you know best, you know your dog better then i do. I just wish you the best of luck and sending thoughts your way. xxxxxxx
