The law was implemented in Las Vegas without being thought out. More than anything it does take away your rights. There are other ways to promote responsible pet owner laws as well as responsible breeding. This law will not do what it is suppose to do, stamp out puppy mills and BYBers, they can afford all the fees as they breed in high volumes. What is going to do is force the reputable breeder out of business.
I know tha Nevada doesn't have many shows.....but, Las Vegas was being seriously looked at for the YTCA Roving National next year.....because of this law, that probably is no longer an option.....as the law will affect dogs coming in from other areas of the country. | Mary, I don't think it's law yet. I think it was proposed and now being reviewed. Good time to point out the flaws and suggest alternatives. We don't have too many breed clubs here but I hope they'll ask for some help from other cities or states to get this on the right track. Yes, I agree, they should be more focused on pet stores, puppy mills and byb breeders. Do you have contact with anyone from here regarding the Roving National? Is anyone going to put up some alternatives (from here) about this? I'd love to see the Roving National come here next year and you know Las Vegas could sure use the business.
