You're may not like my answer, but I'm telling you my story...I couldn't pad train Apple for all the tea in China...I finally realized it was the carpet, because even 'though you may get the scent out of the carpet, you can never get it out of the pad, and it's encourages them to go...I know you can't do this, but I took out the carpet and replaced it w/laminate (fake wood lol) floor, and Apple was housebroken w/in a couple of weeks...I guess the only advice I could give you is to gate in the kitchen, or get a big xpen and put a big piece of vinyl on it, and wait 'till they go on the pad, then give lots of praise and a TREAT...Apple, totally, responds to treats...I'm sure some ppl have succeeded on carpet, and hopefully they'll give you their stories....Also, go to the training thread and look for answers there too....Good luck.... p.s...I could never get Apple to come in from the backyard, 'till she learned the word treat, and now all I have to say is treat treat, and she's in...I use fresh steamed green beans (organic) for treats, so she doesn't get fat...I make a new batch every three days... |
